Kelowna singer-songwriter, Bex, grew up performing throughout the Okanagan starting at the young age of five years old, where she thrived at musical theatre and classical voice training. Since 2014 she has been most recognized for her musical collaborations with OK Sister (post-modern feminist pop/rock), and mostly recently with, Josh + Bex (dreamy alt-folk).
She is currently performing her most recent work, a solo Indie folk EP, set to hit the studio in the early spring of 2020. As well as a piano series of recovery songs, including Set Fire and All That There Is.
Bex sound is met with an intriguing juxtaposition. On the one hand, her style embodies an intuitive balance of (sometimes pop-like) jaunty, breezy indie-folk reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, Maggie Rogers, Julia Jacklin, and Lisa Hannigan . While on the other, her most profound moments are often witnessed as intense whirlwinds of high powered ballad and core stirring vibrato; a style marked by a space of authenticity and groundedness often said to set her apart from other vocalists in her genre. Both personally and professionally, Bex strives to capture and embody an essence of balance, connectedness, cleansing, empowerment and discipline.
